Freedom to Read

This year the library is offering new middle learning electives. This is the Freedom to Read class that just finished their quarter-long class. These girls did amazing work in the library—they created a scavenger hunt for 5th graders, a Dot Day bulletin board for the EL library, author signs for our author visits, book displays, and they also surveyed ML students about their reading habits. (Look for their survey results soon on this blog soon.) Last week they took library books to the ML commons and had book checkout at lunch. They were a fabulous group to work with and I will miss them in the library.

Halloween Poetry Reading

This year the fall UL poetry reading will have a Halloween theme. All students and faculty are invited to come enjoy some nutella and croissants and some creepy poems. Feel free to come listen or to read a poem. This poetry reading is sponsored by the Creative Writing Club and will take place on Friday, Oct. 23 at 8:30 a.m. in the library.
