Summer Reading
The school year is almost over and we are busy planning for summer reading. Our goal is to encourage students and staff to read for fun this summer! Students in 4th-12th grades have some required reading, so check out our website and find out what needs to be read. Middle and Upper Learning students have all been signing up for summer book clubs and that information is on the website as well. UL students taking AP courses next year should also be sure to check the website for information. Summer Reading Website Link

Happy Summer!
We hope you have a relaxing, fun-filled summer. And of course, we hope you read some good books. Don't forget Galloway Summer Reading—find out all about it on our Summer Reading website. We are checking out up to 25 books to returning students so stop by the library on the last few days of school and we will help you load up with books. If you like to listen to audiobooks, take a look at our collection of Catalist Digital books (user name and password is the same as what we use for our database page). And here's the BIG NEWS...The Galloway Library now has an eBook/Audiobook account with OverDrive. Get the OverDrive app and select The Galloway School. Sign in with your network ID (this will work for current middle and upper learning students) and try out an eBook or audiobook. We are part of a consortium of independent schools, and there will be over 2,000 books available. If you have questions, please e-mail Ms. Kochel at mkochel@gallowayschool.org.

Wonder
All of middle learning has been reading Wonder by R.J. Palacio this summer. Now it's time to talk about Auggie, Jack Will, Summer, Julian, Via and all the other characters. How were they kind to each other? When were they not as good of friends as they should have been? What can we learn from how Beecher Prep welcomed Auggie to school? We are hoping this is the beginning of a year-long conversation about how we can be a more caring community.

Summer Checkout
It's time for summer book checkout! If you are returning to Galloway next year and you will be in Middle or Upper Learning, you are welcome to come by and check out up to 25 books to read over the summer. If you have outstanding books or fines from this school year you will need to take care of them before checking out books for the summer. We will be checking out books starting today until the end of the school year. If you want book suggestions, be sure to check with Ms. Kochel or Mrs. Zupancic. And don't forget that summer reading assignments can be found here: http://www.gallowayschool.org/reading/
